PROFILE Anette Åkerlund is Roma singer and musician and dancer specializing in flamenco and gypsy music.
EDUCATION -Master of Music 2015 at the Folk Music Department of Sibelius Academy.
WORK EXPERIENCE
-Flamenco dance and singing teacher in the elementary schools in City of Vantaa 2012→
-Singing and dance teacher in many Roma music courses and festivals, i.e. Stockholm Roma Festival in Sept. 2014.
-Solist of a Madrid-based flamenco group, Camerata Flamenco Project 2015 →
-solist of a Finnish-Swedish Flamenco-Folk Music group, Rosa kvella 2016-
-Many solo performings with piano and singing, for example in Tampere Flamenco Festival 2013.
-Many performings in several Roma music and culture festivals and events, i.e. Porvoo and Helsinki Roma Music Festivals from 1999, Stockholm Roma Festival 2014, Latvia Roma Music Festival August 2015 and India Roma Music Festival in Feb. 2016.
-Producer for many Roma music events, for instance Loolo dzii Roma music consert in 2013 in Savoy Theater in Helsinki.
-I have worked as a Roma language diccionary editor in the department of the Roma Studies and the department of Finnish language in Helsinki University in 2014-2015.
PRESENTATIONS -Presentation about the vocal techniques in the flamenco singing and in the Finnish Roma songs style in Stockholm Södertörn University in a Roma studies seminar in April 2015.
